2007 Autumn Report

As in the previous years, also this year I am writing a report to our benefactors. As we have to wait for the annual accounting reports (31st March 2008), the 2007 Annual Report can not be written sooner than in the beginning of April.

To our greatest regret we have to inform you that from the beginning of the next school year the Missionary House in Barrandov will be subject to the decision of the Prague 5 Municipal Authority demolished and its diverse groups will be split up into other houses in the housing estate. The very successful team will thus be destroyed.

For SERVO this meant that we had to search for other tasks in order to ensure the fulfilment of our mission, the fighting of drugs by spreading of information and teaching, also in the future.

The management of the Student Home in Černá Street addressed us with a request for help. This Student Home does not only attempt to provide the students with housing services, but also enlarge their horizon by diverse cultural and sport events. They have launched an anti-drugs prevention program, but the funds available for this project are limited. The manager paid us a visit and asked for help.

We went to visit the house, had a discussion with the manager of the establishment and found out that this new project is perfectly matching our intentions. Due to this, the SERVO organisation will move to Černá Street and will take over the anti-drugs prevention activities in the scope of the "KOPRETINY" project. Similarly as in Barrandov, also here we will provide our devotion, experience and also our funds, which we annually raise from our donors. Our task will again be to ensure the information materials and provide trained staff. To the events organised we will also invite students, young people and children who do not live in the Student Home. We will also encourage "our children and youth from the Barrandov housing estate" to visit us and support our new activities.

To the 2007 Annual Report we will attach a report on the first months of the next year.

As always, we would like to thank you on behalf of SERVO for your support, help and interest in our efforts. Please stay with us and provide us with your help also in the future!
